hello,
I was wondering how many (unfortunately, Google-only) users participate in flagging the recent spaham flood.
One way of doing this is via de groups.google.com web page.
I've uploaded a rather trivial video on how to do this: see https://youtu.be/oXFBI41iqws

Instead of marking individual messages as spam inside a thread, you can also select multiple conversations (entire threads) and mark all of them as spam.
Some spam threads contain over 60 messages and it would be a lot of work to mark these individual messages as spam.
