• stern Indiana jones coil strength ?

From Chas Gantz@21:1/5 to All on Mon Mar 20 05:38:33 2023
The upper captive ball saucer is weak as are the sling shots by the flippers. Coil is new, everything is clean and moves freely, but it won't kick the ball out.

In the settings menu the coil strength is set to "hard". Changing this setting has no effect. does the coil strength setting affect all coils or just the flipper strength??

Any ideas why this coil is weak?? it's getting the proper voltage 22vdc

    Thanks
    Chas

    Hi Chas,

Looking at the manual page 111, the slingshot power comes from the brown conductor via J7-P1 and then on to J6-P10 to fuse F10.

Any of those connections may be in poor condition so you get a static
voltage reading that is fine, but under load the connection has too much resistance and thus the action is weak.

Connectors are always my first suspect in this situation!

PS, the manual is on ipdb.org

I don't think reflowing the solder connections on these pins will help
much if at all, I am talking about the wiper pins in the sockets...those
    I am suspicious of!
