    I have a Centigrade 37 where the top hole works perfect unless special is lit. If special is lit the game completely resets and will start a new game as the ball drains and gets kicked to the shooter alley.
    I have the manual and schematic plus 30 years of pinball repair/restoration. The only other clue I have is that the game will not award a replay on a match. I don’t know if the two problems are related, I would just like to get the special to award a replay without the machine starting a new game by itself.

    I would check that the Stepup Solenoid for the credit unit is not
    shorted. I assume you have the game on free play and so the only time
    this is activated is when you have a Special lit...

    Yes, game is on free play and the one of the credit step up switch pairs was shorting out causing a new game to be started and not adding a replay like it should.
