• VR1 Zener diode substitute for Bally Regulator Driver Board

From John McRae@21:1/5 to All on Wed Oct 5 10:44:35 2022
As part of a Regulator Driver Board high voltage rebuild is it ok to use 140 volt 5 watt diodes in place of 140 volt 2 watt?

    I have these: IN5382B ZENER DIODE 140V 5W

Will the higher amperage cause ant issues?

    Thank you in advance.

In a word NO! You will have zero problems with an overrated component.
Zener diodes are more a voltage related component (even though they have maximum current and therefore related properties) and if they can handle
    higher current, all the better.
