Had a ring of polymorph control. Polymorphed into a vampire lord a few
times. Then at the entrance to the castle a cockatrice showed up. It was
as I suspected - the vampire's bite attack gets him stoned by cockatrice.
I plan on choosing gargoyle next time, although any suggestions are
welcome. I'm about the worst there is at seeing the cockatrice and
changing strategies, because my adventures with floating eyes are
legendary.
