  • Petless arc

    I've now done petless all the physical roles and semi physical roles. Now moving to my hardest roles petless.

    Up first is arc. Had a few die and then lucked out with a co aligned altar in minetown. Two magic lamps were blessed, one was a dud, the second one GDSM. Got snickesnee as a gift (basically the lesser excalibur), and ran with it.
    Very fortunate cloak of displacement was also great in the early game along with good donating as per usual with an arc.

    Throne sitting with blessed luckstone (which was found early) got me another wish and I did +1 Shield of Reflection. Sokoban later revealed a bag of holding, meaning my wish was spot on.

    I'm now AC -25 with a +5 snickersnee magic resistance, reflection and decent (80) hp. For some bizzare reason I've witnessed TWO amulets of livesaving pop on monsters and have found two amulets of lifesaving myself, all before the castle. A lucky find of
    a wand of death and wand of polymorph happened too, along with a stray scroll of genocide, which I'll use for liches, and a magic marker with 99 charges.

    Looks like this one will ascend too. As a note, snickersnee doesn't aggravate demons, which is nice.

    Note that while Grayswandir has a silver bonus against demons
    Death does not count as demon, so he gets (AFAICT) the double
    damage and strength bonus "only" (which is still great).

    This can be optimized with two-weapon combat; I recall some
    games with two-turn deaths of Death.

    Multi-shot missiles is also quite impressive here. (My current
    [slashem] Rogue with blessed +6 daggers at Expert and Str:23
    from GoP is really fantastic.)
