Valkyrie decimated the forces in the castle. Then while clearing some up, walked by a piece of the moat. Had no fear because all the water creatures
had been defeated in the front moat. Evidently they are not connected and there are new creatures to fight in the back moat. Was speeding by, about
four moves ahead of where she was, meanwhile an eel grabbed her and
the motion, perpendicular to the moat was interpreted as flailing and
foolish movement, and pretty soon I'm looking at a DYWYPI message.

All I could think was that she cleared that moat, but it looks like there's two to worry about, maybe more.

What's good: valkyrie can clear eels before they drown her when armed
with Excalibur so long as player is aware of the threat. You have three
turns of freedom to slay the eel. Barbarians can also do this with
starting weapons.
