    Is there any server still doing nh 3.4.3 or is that time in reality just over?

    Don't know, but https://www.hardfought.org/nethack/ lists it on the
    alias list, and I also see a recent NH343 ascension in the ascension
    logfiles, so it might be worth a try to register and see.
