    This is part of the fun of Nethack.

    I was a little surprised that there *wasn't* a special case for using a vorpal sword against a jabberwock.

    Guaranteed instant beheading with the Vorpal Blade. - I wouldn't think
    that this has changed in newer versions of Nethack?! (Or did it change?)

    I haven't had that situation in the latest game. If it does that now, wonderful.

    I don't know about "now" - I haven't played Vanilla Nethack for many
    many years now. - But it has always been that way as long as I recall. <look-up...>
    I see it was missing in version 3.0.9 but present since 3.1 (I assume
    it's still there in the post 3.4.3 releases).

    Did they add "The vorpal blade goes snickersnee!" as the message? That
    would be a good touch. :)

    When you get crowned as Neutral character you get that artifact with
    a message "The Vorpal Blade goes snicker-snack!" (or some such).

    I don't think (don't recall) that there was such a message when you
    hit with that artifact (beyond the standard beheading message).

    Also note that there's also another artifact weapon, Snickersnee;
    such a message as you show it might be considered confusing if it
    appears with the Vorpal Blade. (But that's just an opinion.)
