• [nndnh] Bug - in sacrifice logic

From Janis Papanagnou@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jun 30 17:44:00 2024
I'm playing notnotdNethack on Hardfought (EU).

Now for the second time the game crashed without further notice.
Restart was possible at the last level change sync point, alas,
the whole actions on that level since the sync point were lost.

The crash happened both times when sacrificing at a co-aligned
altar. Many sacrifices were consumed without issues, e.g. luck
was adjusted, my god mollified, or nothing happened. I assume
that the crash happens when a gift would have been created in
my current game. (Maybe a crash on any specific selected gift,
or generally after "too many" gifts already existing. - Here
I can just speculate.) But it could also be on another sort
of gift, minions or anything (which I had got before without
    an issue).

(I also cannot tell whether it is an inherited bug from some
other variant or originating in this variant. The creator of
this variant may have some more concrete opinions.)

Continued - with occasional saving/restarting the game for sync
    point updates - ...

Some more sacrifices eventually yielded Narya. So not an artifact
gift per se be the problem (but maybe a specific artifact or some
    ofter type of divine gift).

Again when sacrificing occasional crashes. Later I've received a
minion as gift. So (since the Narya as gift was no problem) it's
most likely that another artifact weapon triggers the crash. :-(
