(This is from a notnotdnethack game on hardfought.)
My pet got me a potion from a shop. I tried to price-identify it.
I dropped (and picked up) the potion three times in a row...
B - a purple-red potion {20}.
Konosja offers 75 gold pieces for your purple-red potion. Sell it?

B - a stolen purple-red potion {20}.
You drop a purple-red potion {20}. "That item is stolen." Konosja
seems uninterested.

I wonder about many things here...
1. Why isn't it identified as stolen the first time?
1a. Why isn't it attributed as stolen?
1b. Why do I get a price offer?
2. Why is it rejected the second time?
2a. Why isn't it noted as stolen when dropped?
3. Why is it then noted as stolen?
