I don't think that stripping the 8pt to make a point behind O's anchor
is the right idea here, when X has those blots on the other side of the
board. X is well ahead in the pip count and Magriel's criteria suggest
a safe play. For me, the choice is between 22/18 9/4 and 18/9. I would probably play 18/9 over the board, following the principle that one
should race when ahead in the race.
