From Mark Brader@21:1/5 to All on Sun Oct 6 04:41:45 2024
    Mark Brader:
I guess I should already have started posting current-events
rounds from the Canadian Inquisition's present season while they
were reasonably current. As we're now 4 games into the season,
I'll post the first 4 games' rounds in one set now, and continue
with the usual 2 gsmes per set.

These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on the dates
indicated, and should be interpreted accordingly. If any answers
have changed due to newer news, you are still expected to give
the answers that were correct on that date. ... I will reveal
the correct answers in about 3 days. ... For further information
please see my 2024-08-30 companion posting on "Questions from the
    Canadian Inquisition (QFTCI*)".

If you there are entire rounds where you don't answer any questions,
please make sure the round titles remain in your posting. It makes
    it easier to score.

It should be noted that Springfield is no where near the most common
place name in the US. Years ago, I did some research on this and wrote
up my results for Word Ways magazine. The most common name was either
Fairview (256) or Midway (211), depending on how you counted. The name
in the most states is Riverside (46 states). link to the article (pdf)

    I didn't say it was.

The thing is that only about two of them are notable -- the one in Massachusetts because it's the largest, and the one in Illinois
because it's the state capital. So I think it's reasonable to ask
for the state in connection with any other one.

    in either thread.)

These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on the dates
indicated, and should be interpreted accordingly. If any answers

On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give

penalty if the questions were being scored. Please post all your
answers in a single followup to the newsgroup, based only on your
