This morning I had to sign a W-2G, I hit the Blue, Yellow, and Red pig at the same time for over $2100. The IRS is going to rip me a new one in 2024.

Well, if you itemize, you'll just deduct enough gambling losses to offset it. I hope you didn't toke the person who made you sign the form OR the cage when you cashed out.

Sweet! What was the count on the blue when you started? If it's not top secret. Recently I decided to take AP slots seriously and resolved to put some serious study time in. It's a pity. I used to enjoy grinding a good vp opportunity, but that ship
has mostly sailed... at least locally.

I think Blue started about 15 and was in high 20s when they all went off. Big fat Yellow. It's an interesting game. Frustrating. A lot of different opinions on it. My local VP has really sunk lately. Some spots my only play is 9-7 DB. I'm going to
have to change with the times.

You ever wonder if the 97 DB really pays that way? I read a number of Indian casinos don't mind taking risks of big fines by not paying out fairly.

They don't need to rig Double Bonus. It's such a difficult game. When the FH pays 7 and the ST pays 5, it really makes the strategy complicated. But I have faith in the honesty of Indian casinos. Basically, anyway.

I know they've grown a lot and but in a nice hotel now, so probably not, but I dunno, haven't been around there in a long time to hear all the stories or read about the lawsuits in the papers. I do know the poker room at one of them was ran by a tribe
member for a while and he was a cheating MFer. In tournaments, he'd put himself in with an entire rack of tourney chips(just blatant cheating) and any time that jackpot started approaching $10K, he'd put an employee into the game and they'd cooler the
jackpot. It was that blatant. He ended up getting fired though...think there were a lot of complaints. A couple dealers from that casino would visit the Paradise poker rom and try to cheat the game and it was pretty ugly at the table when I exposed
them. Their signaling and sandwich raising was just too obvious. Had another tribe elder(reportedly a drug dealer) who'd try to cheat the paradise game the same way with his wife...any time they moved a big stack of chips forward and then pulled off
chips to bet, that was the signal for the spouse to raise and re-raise back. I finally said, "Ah, come onnnnn" one time and they both immediately beefed with for outing them because they were losing anyways and I wasn't even in the hand. Then they
left and I got warned by a couple people that knew of him saying he might kill me for doing that since apparently he really was a scary drug dealer. I don't care though, I hate cheating. Some crazy times up there for such small rooms. Many players
seemed to have crazy stories. There was a guy nicknamed "Chicken Dave"...raised chickens? Anyways, his g/f would tag along and the story was he'd have his g/f screwing players out in the parking lot for small buy-ins to keep him in action. Many Gold
miners....various levels of criminals. Scariest white dude ever once walked in....had a noose tattooed around his neck and he was huge and muscular..but had an 90lb asian g/f in tow. I could go on forever about the various stories up there. Makes the
game interesting...way more interesting than LA degens.

My benefits and promotions are slimmer these days. It's hard to make 99% work. Especially if the play triggers W2s. I trust games at the Wisconsin and Michigan NA casinos I go to. I do not always trust drawings and promotions.

From what I've read 15 might be a little low to jump on it. I haven't seen an opportunity on that one yet. I've started to compile a list of games and strategies. It's just in the beginning stage, but I can see that's where the advantage is now. I
can still find a little 99%+ vp, but it's not like the old days. I was pulling down 2 or 3 percent advantages locally and getting a lot of love for my action. That's long gone.

Heading to Vegas again in a couple of months. I'll fit in a little vp there, I'm sure.

I don't know what Jerry is talking about. As I recall, and my memory is very hazy here, the Harrahs of that era had done something sketchy and the feds were making them do paperwork on minor tournament wins. It was not typical. I haven't picked up a
physical card in years... except a little blackjack coupon hustling. From a machine perspective I know exactly what triggers a W2 and because of the state tax situation I have to be cognizant of what they do to the bottom line when I calculate
    expectation.

My knowledge of this game is sketchy and academic. I'll watch some video of play and let you know. From what I've read, and you have probably read the same analysis, the blue pig is the important driver of value. My knowledge is a work in progress for
slots. It will take me a while to catch up. I've always had some ap slots in my back pocket. Variable state machines are often easy to spot and sometimes a decent strategy is easy to figure out, but I've never put the work in to see the full potential.

Yes, but sometimes he has to put in his hours at the local Indian Casino in order to get comped for the buffet.
This morning I had to sign a W-2G, I hit the Blue, Yellow, and Red pig at the same time for over $2100. The IRS is going to rip me a new one in 2024.
    .

Yesterday at Red Rock, I had to sign for $200, Threes full.
I remember winning some crappy little tournament in Laughlin at Harrah's many years ago. The prize was in the hundreds. I think it still triggered a W2. I know I had to sign for it. Nuts.

    C
If everything is triggering a W2, why would you even play?
    .

I don't know what Jerry is talking about. As I recall, and my memory is very hazy here, the Harrahs of that era had
done something sketchy and the feds were making them do paperwork on minor tournament wins. It was not typical.
    .

Don't know the timeline on that, but tournament wins I've been in, you sign (scribble) your name and (scribble) your Social Security number. Never make it readable. Done it for years, never listed them nor paid taxes on them.
    .
    .
I haven't picked up a physical card in years... except a little blackjack coupon hustling. From a machine perspective I know exactly what triggers a W2 and because of the state tax situation I have to be cognizant of what they do to the bottom line
    when I calculate expectation.
    .

I believe I heard Riski say if you hit a machine for $1,200 (or there abouts) or more, you sign a W2.

I never use card protectors. I always hold my cards in my hand, protecting all four sides. I have seen idiots throw cards to muck and they slide right under a live hand with a card protector on it, and dealers who muck cards even with chips on them. Much better to just hold them in your own hand and protect them from everything.

Oh, I agree...I'm just giving that as a suggested for all the morons who use card protectors. Many times I've had assholes at the table try to muck their cards into my hand and kill it. And, I never sit next to the dealer for the sole purpose of
keeping idiot dealers from mucking hands when they aren't supposed to and I've seen that happen 100x easy. I've learned you have to take other precautions these days, too, because lazy dealers will try to get you to surrender your winning hand before
they push you the pot....too many times someone is still holding onto their hand. There are a lot of things I do to protect myself....having played forever at Commerce, the angle capitol of the world, you have to know how to protect your hand.

Okay, have a tiny bit of practical experience with the game after weekend at the casino. 2 plays and both were on the X out pig at the .75 denom. My inclination is that the wilds would be the better play after watching a friend on that game. Just a
guess. Netted just under $200 on 2 plays at 75 cent. I have some new thoughts on the game which may be more in line with yours. Mostly I played other games. Did not once touch the buttons of a vp machine.

Side note: Did you know that when you touched the pigs they grunt? Really good game design. And good for more than a few jokes about touching my hog.

protector and I politely refused. She seemed so insulted. Truth is I
just didn't want it weighing down my shorts pocket.
    ______

I never use card protectors. I always hold my cards in my hand, protecting all four sides. I have seen idiots throw cards to muck and they slide
    right
under a live hand with a card protector on it, and dealers who muck cards even with chips on them. Much better to just hold them in your own hand
    and
    protect them from everything.

You can get the ideal card protector for $2:

Excellent, except I'd like it in chartreuse.

Wonder if all this with the W2s for low-level "wins" has anything to do with Biden's plan to hire 10,000 more IRS auditors, etc. The Democrats "going after" the under the radar money and tax it.

In Keno, with similar odds for slot machines, 5 out of 5 in Massachusetts wins $450; but of course "no one" probably ever pays taxes on it (under $600 is not reportable, but technically you still owe taxes on it). They (the state) even has a section in
the lottery rules stating that it's the responsibility of the player to declare the non-reportable "winnings" on their tax returns.

Maybe the casinos are complying with the "going after" all the "little money out there" even though McCarthy has supposedly blocked the attempt by the Democrats to hire the 10,000 extra IRS agents. Ya, know, the casinos have things set-up for taxing the
low-level money in anticipation of the new tax-attitude.

The exact truth is you are responsible for putting any income on your taxes that'd increase the level of the tax you pay. So, if you found as little as $1 on the ground...and that single $1 bill was enough to move your taxes because you were already $1
away from the next tax level, you'd have to report it. Rather than cut spending on illegals or quit foreign aid or enforce taxes on billionaires and their layered shell companies like what the Biden's are doing, Biden wants to come milk every single
dollar he thinks he can get out of you. After all, you will own nothing and be happy.

No. The reason was openly stated. Only right-wing sites and right-wing politicians (Republicans) twisted it
for their viewers. (Lied to them, like Fox admits they do).
