We rarely hear about cocktail waitresses, but encounters with them can leave quite a few memories. Binions cocktail waitresses were once famous in this group if only for the Octagenarian cocktail waitress who worked there forever. I imagine she's
passed by now, but when you get traditions like her in vegas, you fondly remember them on return trips....like it's even fun how you recognize the same local degens at the tables sometimes. But, I remember other Binions waitresses....I remember one of
my last BARGE events at Binions....August and I'm dying of thirst....we can't get a cocktail waitress at our table for ages....I finally start looking around and I see 3 young Binions cocktail waitresses all chinwagging while drinking their own drinks.
JFC. I also remember reading some cocktail waitress rants online...one waitress wasn't ranting about poker players...some wouldn't toke her at all, but that's not what got her mad...she was made because the high limit poker players weren't toking her
the chips they were playing with. Apparently, she thought everyone should toke based upon what their standard playing chip was. I guess she thinks Doyle should be giving her $5000 flag chips for a diet coke....and she was truly angry about it. Fuck
her. I never feel too sorty for cocktail waitresses after one chick I knew had her twin sister QUIT her job as an RN to just work her part time job at Caesars serving drinks because she was pulling down $600-1000 cash per night. Ya, she had a rack if
you were wondering. And, while I generally don't like tip based employees, I gotta say there are some Orlean's waitresses who really understood how to hustle. They were very fine with receiving a $1 chip because they knew they could just work their
asses off and make as many $1 chips as they wanted. Heck, these waitresses you wouldn't even have to order a beer because if someone left and they had an extra beer, they were smart enough to find someone to dump it off on and still get their $1. I
once had 3 Orleans waitresses bringing me beers I never even ordered. I will get the Razzy award to one spoiled young entitled bitch at the Bellagio. She looked maybe 21...was hot...and probably the result of nepotism as she'd only take a single
drink order at a time....and I mean one player at a poker table at a time.....probably she couldn't balance a plate of drinks, she was light. Anyways I made fun of it to the poker dealer....who must have said something because next I know this cocktail
waitress was screaming in my ear if I wanted to order anything. I was already put off by her and just said no....

No clickers at the Binions poker tables? I remember the clickers at the blackjack tables. It was a pretty good idea. They should bring them back. Click click. Click click.

I oughta bring in a little silver bell and condition cocktail waitresses by ringing it any time I order a drink. I'm sure they'll love that. Then I'll start passing it around the table and letting everyone ring it. After a while, Maybe I'll take one
of those bike horns to get people to wake up when it's their turn to act on a hand.

My impression of Vegas cocktail waitresses is that most of them worked damn hard, had to put with a load of crap from nasty losers and obnoxious winners and earned every dollar they got.

Sounds like you've watched "The Cooler". I've spent way too many hours in Vegas casinos. While "nasty losers and obnoxious winners" is exactly my impression of a number of gamblers. I've never witnessed anyone get out of line with a cocktail
waitress. Though, I've seen a lot of players get out of line with dealers who should be in jail and banned permanently...but I've seen dealers get way out of line, too.

It isn't my business how much cocktail waitresses make. I'll always tip a dollar. If they've been around a while and have served me several times I begin tipping them $2, sometimes more. But if there's something I've noticed about how they do their job
that I don't like I never give them a drink order. I've tipped cleaning women $20 when I've hit a good score- if I've noticed they do a good job.

I can't see bitching about getting a drink for $2 or less.

    .

Once again, follow the money: Cocktail waitresses return to those that tip the most.
Don't expect a lot of visits to the penny machine area...

At Binions, every time a clicker clicked a gambler got his buzz on... Ala, It's a Wonderful Life.
