• Biden spokesperson: what government should and shouldn't do

From risky biz@21:1/5 to All on Sat Mar 4 12:34:58 2023
'White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre lashed out at Republican Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee Friday over a bill he signed into law this week restricting drag shows on public property, in the presence of children, or near schools in the state.

Jean-Pierre, who is openly gay, questioned what impact the bill would have on the lives of Americans, and claimed people were more concerned about issues like the economy and healthcare.

But instead of doing anything to address those real issues that are impacting American people, right now you have a governor from Tennessee that has decided to go after drag shows. What sense does that make to go after drag shows? How is that going to
help people's lives?" she added.' https://www.foxnews.com/politics/karine-jean-pierre-lashes-out-tennessee-law-banning-drag-shows-children

How do government-sponsored drag shows help people's lives?

She wonders why parents wouldn't want role models like this promoted to their children by the government?

How do government-sponsored drag shows help people's lives?

How do reruns of Beverly Hillbillys help anybody?

If they’re NOT “governmented-sponsered” is that okay? Or you still dodging?

And what will the Governor do when I charge the Catholic Church of ‘drag shows’ when the (most likely gay)
Priest, dressed in a dress, sashays across the church stage, waving his perfume bottle?

I would think how people choose to dress in public would be a matter of personal choice and expression and therefore protected by the First Amendment. Now that's a valuable lesson for children to learn.

Yea, and where's the line? When I took a girl across the bay to San Francisco's North Beach Area, to some nightclub; there were no dress codes. Scottish men wearing kilts. And Finocchio's bar full of cross
    dressers.

    https://hoodline.com/2016/05/north-beach-history-finocchio-s-the-carnegie-hall-of-cross-dressing/

And International Settlement in 'Frisco; a full block of Anything Goes.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Settlement_(San_Francisco)

    Where is their right?

** Oh, wait! ** There was a dress code for The Roaring Twenties

    https://www.yelp.com/biz/roaring-20s-closed-san-francisco

My girl and I couldn't get in because I wasn't wearing a tie. We both laughed because everybody was
already sloppy drunk. The swinging trapeze over the bar had a scantily dressed woman with her tits
hanging out... God Damn! Those were the day....

Anyway; those sleazy politicians are just sucking for the Christina vote (and donations).

Thank for proving my point about your lack of even elementary school reading comprehension skills. Tell the truth....did you even make it to third grade?
My response was to the MAIN TOPIC of your post, that is, Tennessee HB9, which was just signed into law. My use of the world PEOPLE would have tipped off an average adult reader to that fact. I totally ignored your moronic comment, "How do government-
sponsored drag shows help people's lives?" because the law is not directed at "government -sponsored drag shows." It is directed at "PEOPLE" (i.e. the public") who have an individual right to expression under the First Amendment. That is OBVIOUS from
what I wrote, and that is why the ACLU is attacking this blatantly unconstitutional law in court. You just aren't very bright.
