• Why would someone murder a Catholic Bishop?

From Paul Popinjay@21:1/5 to All on Mon Feb 20 17:25:34 2023
There's no doubt about it, our nation is sliding further and further into evil. Corrupt, and evil. And it's never going to get better. We lived in the best country for 200+ years, the best country to ever exist. Too bad for the younger generation,
    they don't know.

Perhaps it was someone angry about all of the molestation by priests, and the coverups by bishops and cardinals.

I read the news story. It sounds like the perpetrator was a 60-something year old mentally ill man having an episode of some sort. His wife worked for the bishop as a housekeeper. A witness who knew the perpetrator said that prior to the homicide he was
acting manic and rambling incoherently, something about the bishop owing him money. And as we might expect in the United States of Guns, when the police searched the perpetrator's home they found even more guns. I think we all know the typical Republican
position on periodic screening of gun owners for mental illness or similar issues.

I understand every part of the sentence. What I don't understand is how someone could possibly be as astoundingly dumb as you.

Well, the NRA had a major political push to re-establish gun rights for the mentally ill.

Tracking back, it appears that sexual assaults in the Catholic Church go back at least to the Spanish Inquisition.
