• Buttigieg assured it would be resolved before the holidays.

That's what he said in a television interview many months ago .. that he was 'pressing' the airlines and the cancellation problem would be resolved before the holidays.

Explainer: The general public may have interpreted 'the holidays' as Christmas while Buttigieg was referring to Gay Pride Day which is in June.

“This is what placing unqualified people in positions of power to do the bidding of corporations will get you. There is a direct line from Secretary Buttigeig to the Southwest Airlines debacle and we shouldn’t pretend there isn’t.”

Sanders himself also called on the Transportation Department to hold Southwest accountable in a tweet on Wednesday.

“Southwest’s flight delays & cancellations are beyond unacceptable. This is a company that got a $7 billion taxpayer bailout & will be handing out $428 million in dividends to their wealthy shareholders,” he wrote. “@USDOT must hold Southwest’s
CEO accountable for his greed and incompetence.”

A DOT spokesperson defending Buttigieg: 'The spokesperson added that “in August Secretary Buttigieg pressed airlines to do more for passengers who had a flight canceled or delayed..'
    https://thehill.com/policy/transportation/3791968-progressives-take-aim-at-buttigieg-over-southwest-fiasco/

He 'pressed'. For what? More likely it was for 'Queer Pete for President' campaign contributions.

There is an essay making the rounds by a pilot from Southwest, pointing out that the last CEO was an accountant, who did nothing with operations or maintenance, and left the company with 30-year-old technology, which failed last week.

Where did any of those airlines promise to not cancel 15,000-20,000 flights over the holidays, Jerry? LOL.

    Oh, from your link: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/02/travel/airline-dashboard-flights-cancellations.html
A chart claiming the airlines supposedly have a policy to provide a room at Motel 6 and meal coupons for McDonald's when they DO cancel your flight. In other words, they were PROMISING TO CANCEL FLIGHTS. Let's follow up and see if they actually got those
    McDonald's meal coupons.

Also from that same link of yours:
'Given the other sorts of proposals that have been floating around — fining airlines $55,000 per passenger for cancellations caused by staffing; taking the European approach and requiring airlines to pay travelers hundreds of dollars for some canceled
flights; and reassigning airline enforcement to state attorneys general — a chart might seem like a small step.'

Yeah, Queer Pete's little chart was the smallest step imaginable. Try to convince me that Queer Pete didn't promise the airlines that he would sidetrack any of those 'other sorts of proposals' listed above while mentioning that he was a potential
    presidential candidate.

Where did any of those airlines promise to not cancel 15,000-20,000 flights over the holidays, Jerry? LOL.
    .
They didn’t, and you know that because I gave you the link to their promises. .
    .

    Oh, from your link: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/02/travel/airline-dashboard-flights-cancellations.html
A chart claiming the airlines supposedly have a policy to provide a room at Motel 6 and meal coupons for McDonald's when they DO cancel your flight. In other words, they were PROMISING TO CANCEL FLIGHTS. Let's follow up and see if they actually got
    those McDonald's meal coupons.

Also from that same link of yours:
'Given the other sorts of proposals that have been floating around — fining airlines $55,000 per passenger for cancellations caused by staffing; taking the European approach and requiring airlines to pay travelers hundreds of dollars for some
canceled flights; and reassigning airline enforcement to state attorneys general — a chart might seem like a small step.'

Yeah, Queer Pete's little chart was the smallest step imaginable. Try to convince me that Queer Pete didn't promise the airlines that he would sidetrack any of those 'other sorts of proposals' listed above while mentioning that he was a potential
    presidential candidate.
