I think that in some states, it's illegal to pass another car on the
right. The left lane should be kept clear to allow people to pass. Well, that's what I learned in high school driver's Ed. I doubt that that will
get you a ticket in Hawaii though. We're pretty loose around here.
I think it's creepy for some guy to be driving alongside me on the left
lane. That's too close! I'll speed up or slow down to put some distance between me and my creepy admirer. Either way, I'm not going to be
working with a stranger to create a moving road block for other cars.
That's so rude. I believe in the freedom of the road!

Law aside, there is sensible driving. Let's say this road has two lanes each way and a speed limit of 50. You are one of a few cars on the road
doing about 55, cruising the right lane. You come up to a car in the
left lane cruising at 49 mph. I think everyone would pass him on the
right, possibly muttering some cure words.

I was once involved in an incident where the other party was charged
with unsafe passing on the right. I was driving a snow plow and was
driving the lead plow. Something bumped me and pushed me toward the
median. I cranked the wheel to the right to regain control and bumped
into him. A tractor trailer full of fuel had been passing me and he hit
the wing plow. It turned out to be his fuel tank I kept hitting. The cop
as me what happened. I explained that I was plowing the left lane with
the wing plow extended suddenly got pushed the to the right, steered
back to maintain control and saw the truck. The cop turned around and
told the truck driver he was being charged with unsafe passing on the
right.
My guess is that passing a snowplow on the right is illegal in Hawaii.
That's just asking for trouble.
It's curious that some people can get self righteous and figure it is
their duty to stop other people from exceeding the speed limit and not realizing they violating other sections of the same statute. You are supposed to keep to the right unless passing.
I pulled up alongside him. His kids got an education,
and learned about concepts that they couldn't unlearn,
including about parents who do things to their children
that they obviously shouldn't do. There may have been
some uncomfortable kitchen table discussions after that.

Yeah, that would be nice. On the freeways between here and Detroit,
it's often three or four lanes of solid traffic, with practically
nobody following at a safe distance.

I feel a little ashamed to be an american.
Trump fired elon long before he finished the firings and chopping all
the waste.
Hell, if a president promises to dismantle our entire system, then he
fucks off before the job is done, I won't support him any more. This is
some shitty art of the deal, and I expected an absolute ruler to be able
to finish the shit he started.
Piss on him.

Maybe so. But I'm still concerned that he hasn't deported any of the
huge population of homosexuals infesting our country.
I'm loosing faith in the man rapidly. It's not enough to just get rid
of negroes and mexicans.

And likely all are moving about 80 mph to ensure a massive pileup if
someone screws up.
My car is still in the shop from being rear-ended on April 30. They
think it'll be done by the end of this month.
I wish I had kept my Highlander a little longer. I got about $700
for it and by the time my new car gets out of the shop I'll have
paid about $1400 in car rental. Sure, it was spewing brake fluid
everywhere I went, but we probably could have kept it topped off
for less than $1400. Or even had it fixed.

I didn't realize you got a new car, last I remember you were pretty set

I hate to say it, but you could have bought a reliable 25 year old
Corolla and then given it away when your car was fixed, and still saved
money on the cost of that rental, Ouch!!
Did someone without insurance rear-end you? Otherwise, I'd think
insurance should cover the cost of your rental with your car in the shop.

Would it not be her insurance that provides the rental. I have had cars >while my car was in for repairs. One time the insurance company whined
about the length of time it was taking. I had the body shop call them
and explain. The last time was a couple years ago when I encountered a >kamakazi deer. The insurance company had a new procedure. They sent me
to their approved body shop that sent an estimate to them and they told
me to get it work there. It was driveable so I held onto it until they

complain.
