• Saturday Supper 6/21/25

From Jill McQuown@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jun 21 14:18:36 2025
Simmering on the stove, red (spaghetti) sauce. I browned some mild
Italian sausage with onion and garlic then stirred in two cans of plain
tomato sauce with a Tbs. of tomato paste and some Italian herb seasoning
blend. It's simmering on the stove on very low heat. I give it a stir occasionally. It already smells fantastic. As usual I'll be spooning
    it over angel hair pasta.

Any plans for your Saturday evening meal or is it too early?

    Jill

I did not finish my salad last night so it will be scarfed
    down tonight.

"Scarfed down?" You're a woman. You're supposed to eat daintily.

Sounds good. I've not made sauce in ages.

I'm having steak, baked potato, salad. I have some special grape juice
    to go with it.

I hope it's still good and hasn't fermented!

Good point. Maybe I'll give it a couple of minutes in the microwave to
    be sure it is healthy.

Earlier today I made a potato, green bean, hardboiled egg,
caper, and parsley salad dressed with white-wine vinaigrette.
After it marinated for a few hours, I put some in a bowl and
added chunks of tomato, sliced radish, and sliced kalamata olives.
I have enough left for several more days.

We had a frozen pizza for a late lunch.

Later, pork kabobs grilled on stove top, with a half shrimp ring on the
    side.

Of course it's fermented dummy. With steaks, ed would always have some
form of booze to accompany it? I'm sure it's of higher caliber than
crystal palace, or even her Majesty's box wines, but booze nonetheless.
