The main course was gas BBQ grilled AAA beef strip loin medallions,
which seemed to be a fancy name for something that was not a strip steak
or a tenderloin, but which turned out to be quite tasty. My wife cooked
them in the grill and got them to a nice medium rare. Sides were
steamed fresh asparagus and a green salad with blue cheese. Dessert was
fresh local strawberries on a small scoop of ice cream and a butter tart.

I marinated a pork tenderloin in a mixture of lemon juice, olive oil,
salt and pepper, cumin chipotle, chili powder, oregano and some crushed garlic. It marinated for about 5 hours. My wife took over for the
cooking and she aced the tenderloin. The thickest part of the middle was
just slightly pink and it was melt in your mouth tender. Served with
salad and........ steamed asparagus.
It was stinking hot today, 33 C, but by the time we had dinner it was comfortable enough to eat out on the patio. The only problem was the
deer flies.

How was the tenderloin cooked?
In real temperature, that is 91F. Hotter than we had.
Pot roast tonight. Good enough with carrots and a red potato.
Changed my breakfasts for the rest of my imprisonment. If they are
making scrambled eggs, I'll get a hard boiled.

On direct heat on the gas grill.

That is well into the heat alert range for us. We start melting in the
low 80s.

Try the omelet. Probably made by a different cook and if they offer
options on the meat, veg and cheese, made individually (per order).
It's only one breakfast - take a chance.

Had the eggs and cheese. I think they added wall paper paste to the
mix. Did have a cheese omelet but that was mass produced too.. I can order one with different additive.

I am inclined to think that if they had made really bad scrambled eggs I would not expect much from the omelet.
This has got to be a flare up of diverticulitis.
Not something to be ignored since doing so landed
me in the hospital for nearly a week back in 2008.
So [...] antibiotics and [...] CT scan

Yikes to the deer flies! I'll bet you were wishing for a screened in
patio.
The pork tenderloin sounds delicious!
I didn't eat anything yesterday. I spent most of the day at the
hospital. I had started having sharp, intermittent abdominal pains. Uh oh. This has got to be a flare up of diverticulitis. Not something to
be ignored since doing so landed me in the hospital for nearly a week
back in 2008
Anyway, the real wait time was waiting for the radiologist to read the results of the CT scan and let the doctor know what was going on. Then
I called my friends at 4:30 to come back and pick me up.
My Medicare coverage went into affect on July 1st and yes, I have a supplemental PPO "advantage plan". It was highly recommended by several people I know. We stopped and I had the three prescriptions I was given (two antibiotics and pain med) filled at an in-network pharmacy, which happens to be in Publix Supermarket, and only cost me $6.25. Publix Pharmacy was already the cheapest in town, even when I was paying for
some meds out of pocket.
I have to check about the coverage for the ER visit. When I checked in
at the ER they scanned both of the cards. I certainly wasn't expecting
to spend most of Sunday at the hospital and Medicare and the supplement insurance are brand new to me.
Anyway, I didn't eat anything yesterday. I haven't eaten anything
today, either. I am still getting occasional twinges of pain but it
will take some time for the antibiotics to do their job. I have pain medication but am not a big fan of taking it.

So I called a friend and he and his gf drove me to the ER. Luckily, the
ER was completely empty so I was taken back immediately. I was given
two IV antibiotics and they sent me for a CT scan with contrast to
further diagnose the situation.
I knew the attending physician in the ER. He used to be my mother's
primary care physician (PCP). He's also my boss's PCP. The doctor remembered my mother and when I mentioned he was my manager's doctor he laughed. Oh yeah, I know that guy! LOL

You might consider getting a pack of Ensure or similar, like Boost.
Have a bottle each day. It provides some calories and protein, vitamins

I know that the history
books and popular lore has indoctrinated people to think that once they
got rid of that horrible king and was all peaches and cream. The new
regime was oppressive enough that a significant percentage of the
population left. Some of them left right away. Some went back to
Britain, some to Canada, some to other colonies. Upper Canada (Ontario)
had massive immigration from the US into the 1790s as people were disenchanted with the new regime and decided that having a monarch
wasn't so bad.

My wife likes hard boiled eggs and eats them frequently. It is no more
work and time to cook a dozen as it is for one so she often cooks a half dozen at a time. In fact, she often takes a couple out for soft boiled
and leaves the rest on for hard boiled. Over the next few days she will
grab one out of the fridge for a ready made breakfast.

I not had a regular hard boiled egg for decades and could enjoy the rest
of my life without ever having another. Years ago I was packing a lunch
to work and my wife was good enough to make sandwiches for me and she
tended to throw in a hard boiled egg and a piece of cheddar. After
years of that I told her not to give me eggs anymore. I just got fed up
with them. That being said,if someone were to expose me to a semi hard
boiled egg, one with a semi set yolk I would snap it up. I believe they
are called jammy.

My guess is the China or Russia is now maintaining the site. Speaking of
Russia, something might be up in Russia. There might be a change of
regime coming up.

There needs to be more of the bastards accidentally falling out of
windows. Especially Pootin. It would also be nice if donald slipped
and fell on a state visit too.

i wish they didn't hate my body so much, but when i
have plain eggs of any kind i'm taking a risk i'll pay
for it later. i love hard boiled eggs, soft boiled eggs,
pickled eggs, omeletts, egg salad sandwiches or even egg
sandwiches.
a hard boiled egg i like to take it and bite a bit
off the top so i can then squirt ketchup and hot sauce
on it several times as i bite my way down through it.
quick meal with a lot of nutrition.
That's all very interesting, Dave Smith. Next time, maybe include a
graph that represents the historical evolution of your egg
appreciation journey?

Perhaps, if we cultivate the good Officer, we can persuade him to make a >scholarly dissertation on eggs.

scholarly dissertation on eggs.
If he's having a good day, he might even elaborate on egg appreciation through the ages, as experienced by his wife, son, niece and
neighbours. But maybe that's wishful thinking.
It is 1939 all over again. Who says history doesn't repeat itself?
