McDonalds prices have steadily increased since 2014, peaking in
2024. Two McD's in my area have shuttered. One in 2023, and one in
Summer 2024. The CEO blamed tarriff anxiety (press fueled) to their
decrease in sales during Q1. Quite laughable really. Luckily, the market
didn't buy it for one second.

Medium fries 138% rise
Quarter pounder cheese meal 122% rise
10pc nugget meal 83% rise
That's a small sample. Consumers are finding better deals elsewhere, in
other words, ruling with their wallets.
Actual inflation during Biden's regime was 31%, leading to a record
number of businiess closures and homelessness - goal achieved. McDonalds
tops the charts on price inflation (100%) on their products compared to
the other leading national fast food brands.
The closest chain to McDonalds clocked in at 86%, which is popeyes. The
chain reporting the lowest price increases was Subway, clocking in at
39%. Subway may have traded price increases with store closures,
shuttering over 800 locations in 2024.
Burger King, your cited example, is experiencing growth due to
international market increases despite shrinkage in the US market. Specifically, the California market is seeing strong shrinkage
with one of their largest franchisees filing Chapter 11. I'd bet a $5
footlong that it relates to the state imposed $20 minumum wage but
that's just a guess.
Back to McDonalds. One may also point to increased criminal
activity at their restaurants as a cause of consumer hesitation. One
mustn't discuss crime these days, no no no. We release criminals on the
streets these days for equity reasons. That's what they call justice in
blue cities (shitholes).
