It's going to fire roasted tomato soup here.  I'm

Leftover pizza for me. It wasn't especially good, but I'll doctor it up

Here's dinner. Sorry, no picture but it was very good!

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

Title: Xxcarol's Mediterranean Chicken Tomato soup
    Categories: Xxcarol, Low cholest, Soups/stews
    Yield: 10 Servings

    16 oz Can diced tomatoes
    28 oz Can Tomato Puree
    16 oz Can Corn
    16 oz Can Cannellini beans
16 oz Can red kidney beans
    32 oz Chicken broth
    1 tb Dried basil
    1/2 tb Dried thyme
    1 ts Cumin
    1/2 tb Black pepper
    2 c Diced cooked chicken
    1/2 tb Olive oil

I've been doing a lot of heart healthy cooking lately and this is a
    perfect sample!

To assemble this is simple. Open cans, add to pot. Do not drain or
rinse. Add chicken, broth, spices and olive oil.

Simmer on the stove to let the flavors meld for about 1 hour. It can
be less but will taste better with the longer simmer.

It's important here to check cans for sodium content and select lower
ones. They may not be marked 'low sodium' and in fact most aren't
    listed as that.

The closer to name brand, the more salt in them. Avoid Hunts, Heinz,
and Contadina unless they have come up with a heart healthy version
that actually IS heart healthy. I used Tuttorossa tomato puree at
15mg per 1/4 cup. In fact, the only item in here that was high, was
the chicken at 176mg sodium for 2 cups, but that was split into 10
cups so each cup so 17mg per serving. What I ended up with was
approximately 35mg mg total per cup.

Shepherds Pie. I got the potatoes going and the filling and then went

The reason I mentioned Sheldon, he would never believe a man and woman
could spend time together and not be sexual. Nor would many people let
their spouse go off with a friend of the opposite sex.

We briefly met at a party in high school and then did not see each other
for another 10 years. We both took a photography class at an Adult Ed
and she sat across from me. That was about 47 years ago.

Often, the four of us would get together, but sometimes just us two.

True, but that would be at or near the top of my list. I have never
cooked a ham. There are two things close to it. A few times we have
fried up ham steaks and my wife does a glazed peameal a couple times a
year. She did one for Easter this year. It turns out similar to ham but
a heck of a lot better. Where it differs is that it tends to be a lot
smaller and less leftovers, and that is a shame because that stuff is as
good cold as it is hot.

Had a snack at about 3 and now not hungry enough to cook.
With my snack was a bourbon as a tribute to a friend that passed
    away 13
years ago today. Long story there.

I'm going to make a salad and have some crackers and cheese with it.

    Maybe a sandwich later?

About 8PM I take a couple of pills and will have some ice cream.

Rare I have a drink in the afternoon but today was special.  Bill was
a good friend but I was really closer to his wife Joan that remains my
best friend.  We go back about 47 years.  I texted her this morning,
    of course.

Sheldon would never understand our friendship.  I'll be spending a
week with her again soon.  It will be on the beach at Ocean City NJ.

Sheldon rarely understood anything.  I think it's great you are still friends with her all these years later.

    Jill

Talked to her yesterday and now have the dates to visit soon. I go once
or twice a year, usually at the shore home. Long drive so usually 7 to
10 days stay. Sometimes I extend it and go up to CT and visit old
    friends there too.

If I had some leftover ham I would likely mince it up with some pickles
and mayo and make my favourite sandwiches, ham and pickle salad.

If you had a lot of leftover ham, you might find more than one way
    to use it.

True, but that would be at or near the top of my list. I have never
cooked a ham. There are two things close to it. A few times we have
fried up ham steaks and my wife does a glazed peameal a couple times a
year. She did one for Easter this year. It turns out similar to ham but
a heck of a lot better.

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't do glazed, and I don't
see the point of cured and unsmoked pork. If I tried guanciale,
though, I might change my mind.

Ed should have just told Popeye that he visited his friend once a year
to trim her bush, and make sure her pussy could still squirt, but he
didn't fuck her because she wasn't Catholic or Mexican.

Popeye would have been satisfied with that.

What's coming out of your kitchen this Thursday evening? Sandwiches, full meal prep, grilling, or finishing off
    some leftovers?

It's going to fire roasted tomato soup here.  I'm
anxious to see if it's going to be better than my
favorite whole tomato recipe blended with a stick
blender after simmering.  Ingredients are the same,
with the tomatoes being the only difference and
there's just enough heavy cream left to make it
    super rich.

You have more ambition and appetite than I have.

Had a snack at about 3 and now not hungry enough to cook.
With my snack was a bourbon as a tribute to a friend that
passed away 13 years ago today. Long story there.

I'm going to make a salad and have some crackers and
    cheese with it.

    Maybe a sandwich later?

About 8PM I take a couple of pills and will have some ice
    cream.

Rare I have a drink in the afternoon but today was special.
Bill was a good friend but I was really closer to his wife
Joan that remains my best friend.  We go back about 47
years.  I texted her this morning, of course.

Sheldon would never understand our friendship.  I'll be
spending a week with her again soon.  It will be on the
    beach at Ocean City NJ.

Sheldon rarely understood anything.  I think it's great you are
still friends with her all these years later.

    Jill

Talked to her yesterday and now have the dates to visit soon. I
go once or twice a year, usually at the shore home. Long drive so
usually 7 to 10 days stay. Sometimes I extend it and go up to CT
and visit old friends there too.

Sounds like the Alan Alda movie 9except theirs involved sex too).
Meeting once a year at a retreat vacation rental.

    Not familiar with the movie.

That's ok. It wasn't a blockbuster or anything. Though the girl and
Alan were having sex, the movie is just about a long term deep
    friendship that sounds like yours.

When I was living in PA, I'd see here at least once a week. After
moving to CT, every few months. Now, 1200 miles, a couple of times a
    year.

I'm in touch with her other ways too. Letters, phone, text. She
lost a son three years ago. She appreciated a short text I sent her.
I've not missed a day since.

Sounds lovely to have a friend like that.

Nothing touches a meaty ham bone (not ham shank) for delicious ham and
beans . I usually use smoked ham shank for the meal, but twice a year,
I end up with a superior ham bone instead.
I've never eaten a peameal. I don't think they sell it here.
