• Almost meatless supper

From Dave Smith@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 19 18:52:23 2025
A couple weeks ago I went to a Ukrainian church in a nearby city to
pick up some perogies because my friends (Ukrainian) wife said they are
the best around. We had some for supper tonight. It would have been
meatless expect that I chopped up a couple strips of bacon that fried
slowly along with some chopped onion. I boiled the perogies until they
floated and then added to the pan with the bacon and onion and I added a
    bit of butter.
This is the first time in a long time we have had perogies and the
first time they have been served on their own. We agreed we should do it
    more often.

My grandparents loved and owned a business in this area. The Dinner
House is only a few blocks on the same street. All of these look good
and if I get back to Philly, I'll try one of them. They all look very
good. Like my grandmother used to make

Cheese and potato. I had hoped to get sauerkraut but they were all sold
out. It's quite an operation they have there. They sell them out of the
back of the church 2 or 3 days a week form 9-5. Someone was leaving as I arrived and then two more showed up while I was there. I had been
meaning to get down there for some time and I am glad I finally did.
    They were great.

It is kind of outrageous. It's not really my thing.
