    My son never had beets when he was a kid because my wife hates them.
    Somewhere along the line after moving out on his own he had beets and
    likes them, especially pickled beets. I remain indifferent. They are
    okay. If someone serves me beets I will eat them and likely enjoy them.
    I don' bother cooking them at home because of my wife's attitude toward
    them. She is not at a all a picky eater and will try most things, bot
    not beets.

    I like borscht. It tends to tame the objection parts of the taste of beets.

    i hated them when i was a kid. my father was militant about
    eating everything on my plate, so choked them down i did.

    they were always from a can though. my wife convinced me
    otherwise by getting some fresh ones at a farmers market,
    then steamed, peeled, chopped, and served to me cold. game
    changer! natures candy. yum.
