I picked up a refurbished Hatsan Bullmaster in .25 caliber. Its less
powerful than either of my other .25 air rifles, but its a semi
automatic. I wonder if I can fit it with a forced reset trigger. LOL.
It just arrived today. I was not so surprised to see it arrived with
a full air tank. While I think they are supposed to ship these with
just enough air to make sure the valves stay sealed I think every air
rifle I have purchased for delivery has arrived with a full reservoir.
Its heavy. That's offset some by the fact that its bull pup bringing
the weight closer to the body.
Its loud... sorta. The shot is quiet, but its drowned out the by
sound of the action cycling. Now its not hearing damage loud. Its
action is just louder than any of my other air rifles.
I can't speak to accuracy. As many other PCP air rifles it comes
without sights. I need to put an optic on it yet. I've got a bunch
of them, but they are all on things. I'm thinking with its reduced
power (I think around 36FPE) something cheap around 3-9x should be
more than adequate.
I did load up a magazine and dump it into my sand pile out back of the
shop. It fired all ten rounds without hiccup, and the magazine is
configured so the bolt doesn't close after you have fired the last
round. I like that much better than most of my bolt guns that will
let you cock and fire them again with an empty magazine.
Its got the same safety I'm not crazy about as many other air guns.
An inside the trigger guard push pull lever. Push forward to fire,
pull back for safe, but its worse. Its smaller so the chance of
slipping off or missing and having an accidental discharge is higher.
If you are as conscientious as I try to be it shouldn't be an issue,
but its worth noting.
I think its time to wander over to Cal Ranch or Sportsman's Warehouse
and pick up a cheap scope.
Check out Natchez Shooters Supply , they have some good deals
sometimes . Got a couple of Sig/Sauer 3-9's for under a hundred bucks
right now .
