When I brought the 80 gallon tank + motor home I took the motor off,
poured some diluted LPS-3 into the tank, sloshed it all around and hung
the tank up in the sun to drain. The condensate has never shown rust color.
That was more a show of my frustration with the craptacular quality of
this machine than an actual expectation the tank will explode.
That being said, LPS3 is some good stuff. I remember when it was
introduced at a trade show and the demo guy kept spraying it into a
corded electric drill and then operating it under water in a tank. Mid
70s maybe. I am sure he took every other trick to be "safe" like rubber
soled shoes, isolated tank, etc, but still it looked impressive.
