    I had almost finished roughing out the inside of this turning (prior to scraping the tool marks and taking the wall thickness down to 3mm) when.... https://postimg.org/image/gcuoonmqt/

    The large "tenon" on the base was the result of finding a major check in
    the wood during initial shaping, otherwise it would have been deeper.

    Oh, well...!

    Yeah, yesterday was one of those days. I told the wife, "If everyday was like today, I would quit turning." Stupid mistakes, lathe would not stay balanced and things like that. But there is always Monday ;-)

    Tough! - now do some carving on it and then it goes on the shelf!

    Martin - into carving wood and turning wood also.
