    Thanks Chris for the detailed and clear analysis. I started researching Dan Osman after going down a YT rabbit hole. One of the most popular YT vids (almost 2M views) said that the rope Dan used had been out on the rocks for a month being weathered,
    which contributed to the rope failure. That seemed crazy to me, almost unbelievable. I am glad that I found your post to clear everything up.

    On an unrelated note, I am shocked to see this type of technology in 1999. Reddit is basically what this is.
