    When you're installing hydraulis hoses, is it necessary to replace the olive every time?

    Shimano type, yes.
    New olive and new barb each time are recommended. They're
    cheap in 10, 20, 50 packs of olive/barb sets.

    If one were in some remote wilderness area without supplies
    available, I'd give it a go with the old one but otherwise no.
