I was up at Chris Robinson's yesterday and he was anxious to show me a like-new Phil Wood with an absolutely perfect Nuevo Record group on it. The paint looked factory fresh without the slightest scratch on it. I asked him how you shift it in a race
without looking and he said "You always look. In a race you can't afford to be floundering around for a lever." As I recall you claimed to have raced friction shifters and said that no one looked. I raced friction shifters for several years and always
looked down. It's only a fractional second but it prevents an accident in a race.

I just wanted to make the point that pro's don't agree with just about any pack of shit you're trying to hand out. Your claim of having done two hundred mile days and showing routes on Strava and discovering you to be 65 certainly frlushes your claims to
be a raver and to have ridden 200 mile days down the drain.

I certainly cannot understnd you and your claims. Why is it? Having BEEN a racer and maybe even having done 200 mile days a time or two in your life isn't good enough? This continuous load of crap coming out of you isn't impressing ME. So why are you
doing it? I have ridden so far and so fast that I know bullshit when I see it. Is it so necessary that SOMEONE believe your load that you're willing to pass this off?

I suggest you be a real bike rider and talk about real things. I don't mind saying that I can't ride faster than 12 mph which gives me an average of 8 mph. I didn't mind you saying that you were averaging 20 or 22 or whatever you were passing off because
I knew that you don't even know what average speed is. And some speedometers don't include dead time in the average speed. So you could very well be simply reporting what it says and believing your own words.

That you continue to ride even though you have 5 months of winter impresses me. I don't believe that you're still racing but if you are that impresses me. At 65 finishing 5 minutes down would impress me.

I think that you've got a case of Liebermannism and want to be an expert. Be yourself and that is enough for me. Krygowski would be a lost cause but for the fact that he rides. All cyclists are welcome here. I heartily disagree with his stand on bike
lanes, helmets and riding ancient equipment but your opinions on those subjects are your own. And from your comments our beliefs are pretty close to the same. I would be pretty interested in your thoughts on disk brakes. I had several bad experiences
with them but it is impossible to get a newer bike without them. That puts me in the catagory of having to submit and learn how to control them.

I absolutely know that electric shifting is better than manual shifting but I find the idea of plugging your bike into the wall, preposterous and so do not use them though I do have a bike with ES since the framset would only accept it. But that bike is
    up for sale.

Jeff, you don't ride bikes so why are you posting on a bicycle group? Why did you EVER post on a bicycle group? Laying in a hospital dying it might fo4r one single secound come to you what you did with your life.

Of course I'm a pain in the ass when confronting people that don't even know what the discussion is about. the words from professionals mean nothing whatsoever to you. Your preference is to make up your own little world.

Just answer the question. Whom are you addressing in your rant? I
could probably figure it out by decoding some of the clues you left
behind in your rant, but that's too much work.

Laying in a hospital dying it might fo4r one single secound come to you what you did with your life.

I had that experience in 2001. I went from a treadmill test (quality
assurance test for my heart) directly into the nearby hospital for
triple bypass surgery. In other words, I went from "feeling bad" to
"I'm dying" in a few hours. Somewhat later, I slowly awoke in the
recovery room where I heard some voices and found myself staring at
the light on the ceiling. I thought "I'm alive. This is cool" and
went back to sleep. All through the surgery and lengthy recovery, I
never thought of my past or what I had done in my past. I only
thought of the future and what I will do in the future. Maybe it's
time you stop thinking about your mythical past and think about your
    future?

    +1

An ER doc sewing my head once commented, "You might have
    died." I replied, "I can't die just now. I haven't killed
    all my enemies."

He had to stop until he stopped laughing.

So you planned to act like an authority on matters completely outside of your experience? I should have known.
