• LXN to IGC?

From Moshe Braner@21:1/5 to All on Fri May 12 13:26:07 2023
Does anybody have software on hand to convert an LXN flight log file
(from an LX700x glide computer) to an IGC file? Preferably keeping the
IGC security, if that's possible? I know you can read it into SeeYou
and export as IGC, but then the security is lost, AFAIK? Old MS-DOS
software is OK. I gather there used to be an MS-DOS converter program
    from LX Navigation.

I do not see why SeeYou should lose security. SeeYou uses igc-lxn.dll to
do the conversion, or it should if you have an up-to=date copy.

You can download the DOS software from:
http://www.ukiws.uk/GFAC/downloads.htm but you will either have to use a
32-bit version of Windows, or install DOSBOX as described in http://www.ukiws.uk/GFAC/documents/FRs_without_DLL.pdf

Alternatively, send me the .lxn file.

    Tim.

To close the loop on this thread, and for anyone else with a similar
    problem...

The SeeYou-generated .IGC file passed validation.
The .LXN file converted with IGC-shell program and igc-lxn.dll passed validation.
There is no need to use the DOS programs. IGC-shell does it all.

Thank you Tim. To clarify, "SeeYou-generated .IGC file" here means
reading the LXN file into SeeYou and then "save as" an IGC file. So if
you have access to SeeYou you don't even need the IGC-shell.
