Here is a source of metric gas springs in the USA. I got a canopy lift strut and a spare for about half of the glider vendor’s price.representative may know.
You need three numbers to order a strut, the large diameter, extension (In MM) and strength in Newtons. In most cases they are marked on the strut, if not you can measure the existing strut and ask around to find the strength in Newtons. Your glider
The configurator on this site lets you quickly select your strut. As I recall they showed up in less than a week.

Actually, in the case of a replacement the original spring will have the correct ends. They are a metric screw size. I did order ends for mine and now have sparesBruce Patton

If from alternate you need to pay attention.
I've done this maybe a dozen times and about 1/2 would have been wrong without checking because default ends would have been wrong.

LS Technologies in Canada ( www.lstechnologies.ca) will custom build a canopy strut to your specifications, at a very affordable price, including shipping to the US. They will need to know the pressure rating, center to center extended length, roddiameter, and size of the end holes (diameter and length). You should be able to order a strut with a pressure rating that exceeds the original of your manufacturer to address the concern raised here.
They made me a replacement strut for my LS7 a few years ago for $38 CAD plus shipping. The replacement did not have bearings embedded in the end holes like my original, but it installed easily and works fine.
