Not much breaking news. Yesterday Garrett Willat was giving a talk and
wanted to refer the audience to an old Soaring article, and admitted he
didn't know how to log into the new website to get to the archives.

Today Kempton Izuno made a noble attempt to do a video conference
concurrently with his presentation, and the Nacbook locked up causing
him to dump the remote audience. Technology moves slowly.

"Many" of the presentations were recorded, and will be available for viewing, including the motorglider maintenance session and Kempton's. I can get you the links to those in a few day...

The motorglider maintenance session would probably take up too much bandwidth so it could not cover all the maintenance issues. Old Bob, The Purist

The ASA motorglider maintenance sessions had plenty of info useful for maintenance, but only for those who actually OWN motorgliders. Tire kickers might also find it helpful to get a handle on what is in store for them.

Of course, covering ALL of the potential maintenance issues for ALL motorgliders in just ONE day is impossible.

There is a large variation in the amount of maintenance each model of motorglider requires. As a former owner of a tow plane, I can report it took a lot more maintenance than my motorglider.

    Eric,
I did about 1300 tows last year and only replaced a mag, the two motorgliders that were at the airport both blew motors and had to depend on the Towpecker, so Eric, how about those motorgliders. I did not see a Pawnee maintenance discussion on the
convention agenda, did you. Old Bob, The Purist
