Well glider fans the winter months are upon us very early and looks like all you Northerner's will be packing those ships up early to avoid the winter cold. Even the guys in Houston will be feeling the winter cold and yet us glider geeks in the greatconservative state of Florida will be getting the firewood ready for the campfires as it dips down into the cold 60's, even the transponders will stop working and 2G can double up on the Sinequan and Doxepin to get a bit of control of his mental state of
Looks like things will be getting good this week and my phone has been ringing from fellow purist in anticipation of good flights and plenty of fun at X52. We plan of having the Towpecker, AKA, Pawnee, ready to yank gliders into the sky, and the BBQgrill will be ready for burgers and Italian Sausages. The beverage truck will be arriving with coolers and cold beverages ranging from Stella to Pacifico, and the Cuba Libre's will fill all those Solo cups. So, if any of you Homies can get down to X52

Hello residents of new hibiscus. I haven't heard from an OGN based at your airport and you have significant glider activity, especially during winter. Please read this post and nominate one of you as the focal. https://groups.google.com/g/rec.aviation.soaring/c/3ocP8GnTuyQ
Thanks. Not so sure that the OGN would be of any benefit to our club. OBTP

BobThank you very much, I had never been informed that we had requested to be on the target list! As I can tell the system would be of no benefit to our club, you may correct me if you like, but tracking our club 2-33 and 126 can be done from the ground. I
Sorry to hear you don’t understand how it works. I will cross new hibiscus off the list

rested I came back, and the weekend begun! The Club as always made me feel right at home. The freshly restored 2-33 Sky Hag looks amazing and so does Nasty II, Libelle. The Towplane and tow pilots provided excellent reliable service while my Flarm wasGentleman!!!!Thanks. Not so sure that the OGN would be of any benefit to our club. OBTP
What I great time I had this weekend at TCSC in Vero Beach, FL. I arrived last Thursday evening accompanied by my father, as he had never visited TCSC. We rigged that evening, put the glider away in the hangar and called it a night. Next day fully
BobDavis, just a follow up on the OGN for our area. The OGN unit will be placed at my place so that it can assist in helping glider pilots and enthusiast for viewing purposes. Hope you understand my willingness to assist. OBTP

Good to hear.Davis, it will be placed at FD25 my home strip, you will not be disappointed, also making arrangements for another unit to be placed at another privately owned strip at Ridge Landing. You may want to list the unit at X52 just for takeoff and landing
I went ahead and added X52 to https://flightbook.glidernet.org/logbook/X52/ so if your receiver is located at the airfield it will automatically detect and log takeoff/landing times.

OGN doesn't do that, though it could. I always announce on the radio when I'm attempting an inflight start, and then the result of the attempt, for the same reasons a towed pilot announces he'll be landing out at XYZ, then announces again after he'slanded. If pilots aren't announcing a potential landing, I suggest other pilots encourage them to do so for their safety and the peace of mind of their friends.

Eric, the OGN should display purist vs MG, AKA, Motorglider Guys When the motor starts it should display a big red flame, wouldn't that be very revealing? OBTP
Seeing it in real time doesn't seem any more useful than seeing it that evening, when the pilot posts the flight on the OLC.
If she's not flying with me, my wife likes to look at how I'm doing throughout the day. I would imagine there are others who appreciateForeflight gives me good info on where our guys are. OBTP&TP
