'm looking at how messages are displayed.  My newsgroup and email inbox (Thunderbird) are displayed differently.

Would someone post a reply to this message so I can figure out how to
    display them in cascade fashion.

How they are displayed in T-bird depends on clicking the cascade symbol
(first icon on the 'column titles' line).

Yeah, I got that but it hasn't been working for me until I made some
changes in my settings.  All seems to be good now.

On another note Dan, I have been posting a few tidbits over on RAS Prime, not much response, kind of reminds me of going to a Catholic school just waiting to have your knuckles slapped. I must admit that I miss the days of pissing off the motorglider
guys, they have such thin skin.
On another note, the weather is finally changing here in Florida, I have a couple of new tow pilots and plan on once again flying my Lowly 27 on a few nice triangles, unlike the motorglider guys at SLGP who fly up and down HWY 27. Old Bob, The Purist

Those Google guys will have you gagged and hog tied on very short

I'm sure I'm not as old a fart as some here. I started gliding in 1985 but my first post here wasn't until 1992:

    https://groups.google.com/g/rec.aviation.soaring/c/ayhAhq40VrU/m/leEmD7ZrG3sJ

Sadly I haven't stepped into a glider since the start of COVID, and for five years before that when I was working overseas (Moscow then San Francisco) I was only gliding when I visited my home club in New Zealand. Just too much hassle to organise flying
anywhere else, with more and more places (especially in USA) being sticklers for the 110 kg limit so you can crash at 40 G without the straps or attachment points failing. Well, the club I visited near Moscow that had a fleet of unmodified Blaniks (and
almost as many Wilgas in various states of assembly) probably wouldn't have cared, but the place was too hard to get to without a car (I rented one just that once).

2014 and earlier I was very active as a C cat doing initial lessons and taking solo or near solo students on small cross-country flights (well, that was also before the C cat) into the mountains near Paraparaumu.

Dan, you are probably correct, but so far things over there behind door #2 have been quiet, much more than I would have expected. I have not even been attacked by that nut job 2G, and I am sure the Google watchdogs are chomping at every opportunity to
limit free speech. Setting all that aside, I have been pleasantly surprised at the lack of participation in that venue. After seeing what has happened to the RAS as we knew it I would expect a larger number of post on Prime, although it is gaining ground.
I do expect to have my knuckles slapped by the Chicago Nuns, what more can the motorglider mafia ask for?
I doubt that our favorite watering hole will ever get back to the old way of fun and enjoyment kind of like the IFC and the Octagon. Prime does have certain benefits, the ability to post pics is nice, other than that the format is pretty much the same,
and I do see more of the RAS Octagon guys showing up and making a few comments, In my honest opinion I do expect a larger number of participants in the near future, I will admit, there was a need for a new more advanced forum, not sure that RAS Prime is
the final solution, but it is void of mushroom and chocolate mind altering candy bars.
Guess I have said enough about this issue, must get going and get ready to head to the glider club to finish up on my new project, something for the kids to fly on their first cross country. One of the Chicago guys is coming out on Saturday to do some
flying and a review, always nice to have glider pilots from other clubs to join in on the fun and activities of TCSC. Old Bob, The Purist

Backups are good as are days off.

Can't help having a day off here.  There's a 1,500' ceiling at Moriarty
and I don't much feel like instrument flight any more.
