• Going insane with Thunderbird

    From jp@21:1/5 to All on Mon Nov 6 17:40:55 2023
    I think I've managed to get an account on eternal-september but now I cannot figure out how to save the server settings for it in Thunderbird. The directions I am following say to click on OK to save the settings but I cannot find an OK on the page or
    any other way to exit the page and save the settings I've entered. Does anyone know what I am to do?

    Maybe you are displaying the page in too large a format and the "OK"
    button is hidden off the screen. Do you have sliders along the bottom
    or side of your display that allow you to move around on the page?

    There's no "OK" button on the account settings page in the version of Thunderbird I am using. Like Firefox. Just close that window when
    you're done, it will remember what you put in. Disconcerting to us
    oldies, but that's the current fad in user interfaces. Note that if you overwrite something (e.g., the port number) and then want to revert,
    there is no "cancel" button either. Progress!

    I was able to set up Thunderbird with the RAS newsgroup in about 10 minutes, using this
    "recipe":
