  • Interactive Web Tools for Researching Glider Accidents

    A new web grid of the details and NTSB conclusions for 371 USA glider accidents (since 2008) is available here: https://www.milletsoftware.com/Data/Glider_Events_Grid.html
    It allows you to search, filter, sort, group, and export the data.

    An updated web pivot using the same data is available here: https://www.milletsoftware.com/Data/Glider_Events.html
    It allows you to view & modify predefined displays as well as create your own crosstabs and charts.

    While the web grid is good for searching and reading accident narratives, the web pivot is excellent at visualizing patterns and trends.

    I will keep these tools updated as new data gets released.

    are now update with FAA data as of November 3, 2023.

    I added a search box to the web grid. This allows you to easily filter to rows containing the specified text in any of their columns. For example, entering 'spin' would filter to rows containing that text in the short narrative column ('narr_cause'), the
    full narrative column ('narr_accf'), etc.
