Best guess, without more info, is that there was flutter, likely rudder, that caused fuselage damage.
I've repaired another ship that had a similar event that was caused by improperly tensioned rudder cables (rudder was free to move 2 inches with pedals held solid, and rudder that was not mass balanced. Damage was torsional failure at the base of the

Looks like this happened a second time, not very long after the first one...The one at the Soaring Club of Houston was staight and level cruising flight about 60 miles west of SCOH. Fortunately the pilot was able to make it back and land at SCOH. The tail boom had fractures and the vertical wobbled side to side with a light push.
