• Renting with trailer hitch

From John Cochrane@21:1/5 to All on Mon Aug 7 14:49:35 2023
The perennial problem.... My car had a problem, imperiling my trip to Uvalde. Ugh, U Haul has always been a mess. I just discovered that Enterprise truck rental will rent you a big pickup, with trailer hitch, and legal to pull the trailer for extra $25
per day. Problem solved! This comes up routinely as most car rental companies do not want you to pull a trailer. Hint #2, the price can vary dramatically between nearby locations and the website does not give any hint of that fact. Two locations 5 miles
away gave $800 and $400 per week for the same truck.

My wife learned that Enterprise will also deliver a car to your
location. When we had a problem in Tucson, they delivered a car to
KRYN, we drove it to KABQ and turned it in. Two weeks later we rented
in Albuquerque and returned the car in Tucson.

Yes it's the proverbial problem. Uhaul is a good deal IF your in the same town that you
are flying at and they have pickups at that location ( most dont) we looked at car sharing companies as well usually well overpriced for pickups. We did use enterprise onces in uvalde
Uvalde but not garunteed to get a pickup. IIRC I think we didn't have to pay extra but did have to buy a 2 inch hitch and ball

Double check that the A/C is working really well.

I sent my vehicle to the dealer for service yesterday and they promptly broke a bunch stuff requiring a parts order that they “promise” will be available in time for my Friday departure on the 2-day drive to balmy Texas.

    See you there!

Y'all a bunch of woosies. If you lived in Phoenix this summer you'd bring a sweater to Uvalde.
    See you there!
