What are the strategic benefits for Saudi Arabia in aligning with Israel
and the West rather than focusing solely on Arab unity?
First of all, Arab unity is a bit of a false notion. It’s never existed,
and probably never would. Whether it’s tribal bickering or battles
between Sunnis and Shiites, the Middle East is a powder keg. Saudi
Arabia does not have a good relationship with Iran, the most unstable
element in the region.
In fact, the Arab world really only stood behind one thing: They didn’t
want Israel to exist.
But they’ve been fighting that unsuccessful, uphill battle for nearly a century. And the smarter thing would be to embrace their neighbors, make
peace, and move history forward already.
Saudi Arabia is not a stupid nation. Arab countries that have embraced modernity not only have massive economic benefits. They enjoy the peace
and security that comes with being part of a modern world that seeks negotiations and conversation, rather than missiles or terrorism.
We’re seeing a shift in the world, but some nations and regions are
adopting the shift slower than others.
Religious extremism is often a factor that slows international growth
and unity, although it is by no means the only factor. Russia still
hasn’t moved forward, and it has nothing to do with religion. And the
entire continent of Africa seems like a mess, completely isolated from
the rest of the world.
But there have been countless opportunities for nations to wake up and
smell a different way of doing things. A way that doesn’t involve
invading nations or massacring citizens.
Positive relations with neighboring and far-away countries means more
economic growth and opportunity. It means rarely having to worry about
missiles being dumped on your country. And it means leading toward
something much nicer than the chaos history has provided us so many times.
So I throw the question right back at you: Why in the world would Saudi
Arabia choose the painfully ineffective chaos of the past over potential extraordinarily fruitful ties to Israel and the US?

It is perversely intriguing, that many Islamic nations are actively
seeking both suppression of the Islamic fundamentalists, and adopting
more liberal and tolerant values within their societies.
Wheras, the present-day's strongholds of the most extreme Islamicist
groups are in the Western democracies, where along with the vast numbers
of fighting-age Muslim men flooding into the West, are the extremists
that exploit Western largesse and Liberal Tolerance, to propagate an
invading Jihadist mindset to millions of Muslim (predominantly) men.

The same goes for Israel. There are many fanatical religious Jews in
Israel. There are also many racist Jews. They are even in power. But
social media is full of other Israelis who claim these fanatics don't
represent Israel.
This Jewish Al Qaeda is under Israeli rule. If these men were of any
race other than Jewish, they would have been bombed by America long ago.
They are pure religious terrorists.

The only problem in joining hands with Israel is to accept the
settler-colonial ideology pushing for a “dynamic state oriented towards expansion” as stated by the founding father David Ben-Gurion. It is a
moral dilemma for most people to accept an ethnosupremacist state with a terrible track record…
