Remember James Clapper and other inteligence officials calling the Biden
    laptop "Russian Disinformation" ?
OK. Obviously he and many of his ilk believe in lying when it suits his political wishes.

Kayleigh McEnany on Hunter Biden laptop: ‘The nation was told a lie’
FIRST ON FOX: A former top intelligence official gave a one-word answer
when asked if he would retract the letter he signed along with 51 other
former officials warning Hunter Biden's infamous "laptop from hell" was
    Russian disinformation.

James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence in the Obama administration, signed the heavily scrutinized letter just weeks before
the 2020 presidential election, claiming the laptop had "all the
earmarks" of a Russian effort to influence the vote.

"No," he simply said when asked by Fox News Digital if he regretted
signing it despite the laptop now being used by prosecutors arguing
Hunter committed a federal gun crime.

Clapper also refused to publicly remove his name from the letter despite evidence proving the device and its contents were legitimate and would
not concede he and the other former intelligence officials who signed on
should have waited longer to weigh in.

The laptop, filled with videos and photos of drug use, sex acts and
sensitive business communications, was shown to the jury Tuesday in an
effort to prove the president's son lied about using drugs on a gun
    purchase form.

Critics took to social media to blast Clapper and others following
revelations the laptop would be entered into evidence.

"No one is above the law, except: James Clapper — lied to Congress/never charged," political science professor Nicholas Giordano wrote in a post
on X. That was a reference to Clapper previously being accused of
perjury when he testified before Congress that the Obama administration
was "not wittingly" collecting Americans' telephone records.

"It was an intelligence community coup," wrote another X user,
suggesting the letter's timing was meant to influence the 2020 election.

While the laptop has since been authenticated by a variety of news
outlets, it was rejected when the New York Post first reported it in the
weeks leading up to the 2020 election, including by Joe Biden's
campaign, which vigorously denied its legitimacy.

The campaign, however, appeared to be coordinating the release of the
letter signed by Clapper, which was published days before a debate
between Biden and Trump in which Biden claimed, "There are 50 former
national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant."

Despite claims from former officials that the laptop had the hallmarks
of Russian disinformation, Fox News Digital reported that federal
investigators with the Department of Justice knew in December 2019 that
Hunter Biden’s laptop was "not manipulated in any way" and contained "reliable evidence."

But they were "obstructed" from seeing all available information,
according to an IRS whistleblower involved in the probe, nearly a year
before the former intelligence officials and Joe Biden declared it was
part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Of course he wouldn’t retract it. It did exactly what he wanted,
preventing Trump from winning the election. He and the other 50 former intelligence officials knew it wasn’t Russia disinformation, but they
had a political agenda. Now that’s why half the country doesn’t trust
    our federal intelligence agencies.

So sad the American legal system has become so corrupt. Trump convicted
of a manipulated felony charge that even if he paid Stormy to protect
his election chances, it was a moot point because the campaign was not obligated to report the payment for 30 days. i.e. after the election.
Whereas those lying about the laptop did affect the election and where
    are their felony charges?

You think Trump winning or losing came down to Hunter's laptop? I think
it came down to election fraud. Most swing voters don't pay attention to laptops, not matter how much corruption is invovled.

Since it is clear that the government fears Trump because he is not part
of the establishment, what do you suppose the government think about its citizens? 19.2 million government employees and growing daily. Not ONE
of them produces anything or makes a profit.

When our country was formed being a politician wasn't supposed to be a
job, but a calling. A professional politician is truly clueless how life
works. But it does make them lots of money. Biden is a great example.

part of the farce that is the administration's sorry labor record, along
with millions that have quit looking for work not in the unemployed

One has to wonder what other information the "intelligence" community
has decided to be the truth when it is based on a lie or other false information.

Isn't there an oath taken by these federal employees and federal
appointees? Aren't they supposed to be honest when dealing with public informatio...

Usually, when the light is shined on them, the bugs run for cover.

    Clapper is a well-disciplined bug.

The "deep state" (Government officials deeply embedded as employees
in the government who have clear political biases and are not
loyal to the truth, the laws, and the citizens of the USA)
clearly exist and are proven by cases like this.

All those officials that signed that letter should be prosecuted to the
fullest extent of the law for election interference, but unfortunately
we all know that will never happen.

We should do like the Dems do. Find the reddest court system surrounded
by a sea of conservatives and file charges against them from there.
Pick a judge who donates to Trump since that is no longer disallowed.

They should all be stripped of their clearances and pensions for not immediately acknowledging that more is known now. If they don’t, then
an investigation starting with Clapper-this is the cornerstone of
election interference. If they aren’t willing to accept hindsight, they shouldn’t continue to have access to sensitive information.
