    So the toppling of the statue of Stalin in Hungry or Saddam in Iraq
    somehow re-wrote history?

    Historians shouldn't rely on what the plinth says for their books. :)

    Well I see your point I do however think this whole hype is going way
    over the top.
    Here on TV there was another black man whining about slavery and they
    did some
    research,guess what, his ancestors  belonged to a tribe that enslaved
    other blacks and sold them. Hilarious!

    Removing statues changes nothing, it just means we don't want to
    celebrate the same parts of our history that we used to.
