ST. LOUIS St. Louis police spiked dozens of cars around midnight on
Saturday, as part of a "strategic plan to address slideshow behavior."
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said officers were called
to the 6500 block of Manchester Avenue for vehicles being driven
dangerously. Multiple divisions responded and found several vehicles
performing stunts in a parking lot.
Police said officers activated their lights, and the vehicles started to
flee and were observed speeding across the parking lot in different
directions.
While evading law enforcement, police said between 40-50 fleeing
vehicles were spiked.
The department said there were no immediate arrests, but that "the
spiking of these fleeing vehicles sends a clear message this reckless behavior is not welcome in St. Louis and we will continue to enforce the
law."
