    Right now, F1 is riding a wave of popularity it's gotten from "Drive to Survive" on Netflix, but that's only going to draw interest in the
    United States for so long.

    Adding a US team...

    ...with a name that people will recognize (sorry, Gene Haas)..

    ...would consolidate the gains they've made.

    It is only business, nothing personal.
    F1 is big business, billions of dollars. So, every move they take is
    for making more money. If they want to introduce another USA based
    team, thinking about the big American market, they will do it. But, on
    the other hand, existing teams have to remain happy with their
    financial situation. As someone said: tenth team should be OK if
    eleventh is introduced.
    As much as I would like to see Andretti team (or some other), the
    final decision will be made on sustainability of the sport and each
    particular team, bound by conctracts.
