With an F1 TV subscription, you can watch the in-car video from any car
at any time; complete with all the team radio.

And with Hamilton starting at the back, it seemed like a great viewing opportunity. A top car starting at the back was sure to give a great perspective on passing cars.

First of all, great drive from Hamilton. He hardly put a foot wrong. I
think I saw a single, very small lockup through the entire thing, and
after passing someone on the front straight, he often make up most of
the gap to the next car by really fantastic braking into turn 1. His
move on Norris did seem like there was any way he'd get the car slowed
enough.

Second, the power of that Mercedes with a fresh ICE in it was monstrous.
Even when he got up to cars with the same Mercedes engine who also had
the benefit of DRS he was clearly in a car that was just faster.

Third, you could also see the strength of the overall aero package and
chassis in the run from turn 6 to turn 8. When Hamilton was running
free, he could accelerate for a lot more of that segment, but behind... ...basically any of the cars he ended up passing, you could hear how he
had to feather the throttle as they just couldn't take that complex as
fast as he could.

Fourth, watching for lap after lap, it was easy to see how the front end
of the car would wash out when Hamilton was close to the car in front
entering a corner. I really hope that F1 can do something that lets the
drivers follow more closely.

Fifth, despite the commentators saying otherwise, Hamilton didn't so
much "figure out" being a little farther back as he came through turn 12
as he just happened to have some variation that occasionally put him
there. And you think he would have learned the trick... ...because he
did end up getting by half a dozen of the cars he passed by being a
little bit farther back at the entry to 12 and just being able to get on
the throttle earlier.

This is probably the best feature of the F1 TV subscription. The feed always shows bits and pieces of various incidents from the in-cars but being able to go through them on you own (with the radio) can be pretty cool. You also have the option to watch
and listen from the more backfield folks. I still get a kick from Kimi's radio...

Having said That, I have to admit that I'm not sure I could handle watching the entire event this way but it is an interesting idea.

It think the fact that it was only a sprint at a short track was a huge
factor for me for it to be possible, yes.

An entire full length GP... ...that might be difficult. But I could
still see going back to see an important sequence of laps for a
particular driver.
