They woke up and recruited Abbi Pulling. Two-time British kart champion over male rivals, and one of the hardest chargers in the W Series. There are some fabulously wealthy Academy entrants, but Abbi had to pull out of British F4 because of empty
pockets. Her dad's an ex stock car oval racer and self-employed welder. The father of another Academy entrant could probably buy the British Isles and have change left over. ;-)

W-Series is no more and the FIA have introduced a new racing series for
    women only called F1 Academy.

Sky F1 are making a really big deal about this and raving ... excepting
... they are not covering the races this weekend.

I cannot see any TV channel covering the racing (in the UK).

Brilliant way of helping the women make progress in motor sports, don't
show it on TV and that will make it a real success.

    <sigh>

    Cheers

Insanity: they are mandating a spec engine that produces only 145 bhp. A smack in the face the W Series drivers (like Abbi Pulling, who will race in the Academy) who spent three years racing 270 bhp cars.

To put on an event with 145 bhp cars as an accompaniment to Formula One is --- insane. But there are one or two fabulously-wealthy Middle East families whose daughters have been 'recruited'.

I think I agree with your feelings.
Meanwhile, the last several year's champion of the
W-Series, Jamie Chadwick will be racing next at:

April 30 Indy NXT by Firestone Grand Prix of Alabama
    Barber Motorsports Park Birmingham, Alabama

    "They" say:
How can I watch the Indy NXT race?
All IndyCar practice sessions, qualifying and races, as well as Indy NXT
by Firestone (formerly Indy Lights) races will stream live on Peacock,
    NBC's livestreaming product. Mar 2, 2023

How many girls are even in the carting feeder system? If you don't start in the correct carts your chance of making it to F1 is very low.
