• Toto's comments on Mercedes

From Darryl Johnson@21:1/5 to All on Sun Mar 5 12:21:47 2023
I was surprised that Toto was so open about the state of Mercedes. His statement pretty much seemed to indicate that Merc would have to redo a
massive amount on the '23 contender, and I assume this will not be the
work of an instant. Is Mercedes going to be another midfield team for
    the season?

I was also surprised by Martin's comments on his grid walk regarding the sidepods on the Merc compared to what several (most?) of the other teams
were doing. They are certainly quite different from Red Bull and
Ferrari, both teams being faster during the race than Mercedes.

Unless there is a significant change, I suspect we can write off 2023 as
far as Lewis getting the Drivers' championship and Mercedes getting the Constructors'.

With Ferrari's reliability issues and Mercs lack of front line pace it will be shocking if the WCC and WDC aren't already over.

At least it looks like it won't be a total yawn wrt to the other teams
    and drivers.
