Okay, I know this is a dumb question, but it's been nagging at me for
years. Can anybody tell me how "piezo" is pronounced in its original language? I know, of course, that virtually every American musician pronounces it "pie - zo," and so that's how I say it, by default.
But it doesn't look like an English word to me. In Italian, it'd be "pee
- ay - tso," for example.
So, does anybody know the history of this word (i.e. in what language it originated), or some "official" pronunciation? Of course, it's useless knowledge to the well-adjusted, but it's making me crazy so please help if you can. I can't sleep ...

Pie-zo sounds it comes from someone that repeated the 4th grade because their teacher was was either a feminist studies or ethnic studies major.

Therefore (according to the original pronounciation) "Piezo" could be pronounced as follows:
