    My gut feel is that wall street and the whole finance oligarchs are pushing this rapid expansion of population because it's the only way to keep the economy growing enough to have a slim chance of avoiding total collapse.

    Either way, the average citizen is screwed and up and coming generations are well and truly fucked with no hope of doing better than their parents and barely any hope of hanging on to what their parents might leave them.

    Poverty is down, unemployment is low and the economy is growing.
